The youth ministry of Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Newark is a community that seeks to be transformed by Christ through teaching, fellowship, and mission.

  • Teaching: We have weekly teachings based on God’s Word and focused on the Gospel message of the free gift of grace that is offered to us through Christ Jesus.

  • Fellowship: We are a loving community that recognizes we are all sinful people in need of God’s grace that are working together to grow in our knowledge and love for God. To that end we have frequent activities and times of fellowship for the youth to form genuine relationships with each other.

  • Mission: We are committed to serving our church, community, and the world through service projects and mission trips.

Youth Group

Youth Group meets on Sunday evenings. For the Fall we will meet every Sunday night from September 8-November 24 (with the exception of November 10) from 5:00-7:00pm. Youth Group is open to all students between 6th and 12th grade (Middle school-High school).

Every week we enjoy fellowship through games, worship through songs, and a time of teaching. Every other week have group discussions broken up by grade and gender (eg. Sr. High boys and girls and Jr. High boys and girls).

On alternating weeks we also enjoy a pizza dinner as a group. The dinner is free and includes gluten free options as well.

Fall Retreat Reality Factor

We are returning to Northbay Adventure Camp for our annual Reality Factor retreat! Mark your calendars for November 8-10 (Friday-Sunday).

What: This retreat is for all students in 6-12th grade and is organized and run by various youth ministers and leaders from Heritage Presbytery (our local body of PCA churches). Reality Factor is held at the NorthBay Adventure Camp (11 Horseshoe Point Lane Northeast, MD 21901). This camp provides many unique activities and endless fun as we will be joined by several other Presbyterian churches and their youth groups. The retreat will involve four sessions of worship and teaching, plenty of organized games and activities, free time for students to enjoy fellowship with one another, and designated youth group time for our students to spend time with just one another. For more information about the Reality Factor retreat, see the retreat website by clicking HERE.

When: Reality Factor 2024 is November 8-10 (Friday-Sunday). We will gather and leave from Evangelical Presbyterian Church Friday evening and return to the church on Sunday afternoon.

Registration: Registration is becoming increasingly more convenient for Reality Factor! There are only three steps to be fully registered for Reality Factor. 1. Follow this link HERE to register as an EPC specific attender for Reality Factor. Note: Parents must be the one completing the registration for their children. 2. Submit a required health form for Northbay Adventure Camp by following this link HERE. 3. Submit payment (see below). Deadline for registration and payment to be received is October 18th! If one is not registered by this time attendance cannot be guaranteed. If one is registered but payment has not been received your reserved slot will be forfeited. Don’t wait, sign up (and pay) today!

Payment: The total cost for a student to attend is $90. This covers everything for the whole weekend and includes a retreat t-shirt as well. Students can also bring a little money if they want anything from the snack bar, and for a love offering that will be given during our final worship session for a local ministry effort. While the overall price for the trip has increased since last year, EP is increasing our scholarship for this trip to reduce the price for all of our students. To submit payment please write a check, made out to Evangelical Presbyterian Church, and write “Reality Factor - [student name]” in the Memo line. Checks can be handed directly to Pastor Caleb Evans or submitted to the church office.
