Pastor Knott and a team of volunteers seek to minister to teens throughout the week, especially on Wed. nights and Sunday mornings. If you are a parent and would like to learn more about our philosophy of youth ministry and our expectations for behavior at youth group, please read this PDF (Youth Ministry Tri-Fold). Meet The Team
Rev. Joshua M. Knott – Joshua is a nerd who happens to be in full time vocational ministry (by the grace of God!). He grew up in the PCA, attended public high school, Grove City College, and then Reformed Theological Seminary before being called as Assistant Pastor at EPC where he has served for the past 7 years.
Elder David Halley – David Halley is former military, currently serving as Area Director of the Western YMCA where he oversees camps, programs, and staff. He oversees all children’s and youth ministry at EPC and works closely with Pastor Knott and Children’s Ministry Director Debbie Freer.
Deacon Scott Cherry – Scott is a business grad currently serving as Operation Control Manager at J.P. Morgan. As a deacon he helps our youth group and our church minister to those in need and will often be found coordinating large group events, playing soccer or bicycling to work and enjoying Turkey Hill Double Dunker ice cream.
Brian Warshaw – Brian currently serves at Bank of America, and, in addition to helping lead weekly corporate worship on electric guitar, enjoys classical guitar, poetry, and shares Joshua and David’s passion for super hero movies. A true renaissance man!
Josiah Stanton – Josiah, a recent Covenant College grad, grew up in Bulgaria and currently serves at the English Language Institute of U. Del evaluating and assisting prospective international students. He too is a soccer fan, and, growing up in Europe often regales us with casual comments like, “when I was learning classical guitar in Madrid,…”
Scott Fenstermacher – Scott, son of a baptist minister, is pursuing his Ph.D. in physical therapy at the University of Delaware. A recent grad of Taylor university and former college football player, Scott especially oversees the games on Wed. night.
Kathy Cherry – Kathy, a Ph. D. in Psychology with a focus on adolescents and youth, is currently a provider of counseling services through a local counseling center. She grew up at EPC, and, in addition to humoring her husband on everyone’s behalf , brings her gifts of administration, hospitality and love of cats to our team.
Becky Kern – Becky is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware. In addition to loving creation, she serves our group by caring for our younger women, helping us serve in places like Sunday Breakfast Mission, and schooling everyone in Ultimate Frisbee.
Katherine Fenstermacher – Katherine, high school sweetheart to Scott Fenstermacher, also attended Taylor where, among other things, she continue to excel in playing the Harp. She not only helps with our Sr. High women, but assists in our corporate worship services.
Wed. Night Youth Group starts out in the Fellowship Hall for worship at 6:30 and then Jr. and Sr. High go to the Family Life Center building. Teens can expect a warm welcome, high energy gym-time, relevant talks from Pastor Knott, and a small group time of getting to know kids their age and their youth leader.
