Youth Sunday School
Youth Sunday School is a vital component of EP’s ministry to families with teens. While it shares similarities with the Youth Group program on Wednesday Nights, the main function of Sunday School is to prepare the hearts and minds of our teens for the worship of Jesus Christ in the worship service to come.
What to Expect: Ordinarily Jr. & Sr. High meet together at 9:30am in one of the Youth Group rooms in the Family Life Center with Scott & Kathy Cherry lead a time of getting to know one another, followed by a time of Bible study led by elder David Halley. The goal of our normal curriculum is not only to get youth ‘into’ the Bible, but using and modeling crucial Bible study skills so they can ‘feast’ on the Word and lead others to do the same throughout their lives.
However, this Fall, our youth are meeting with Pastor Harvey in the Fellowship Hall for a crucial course entitled “Standing Your Ground.” It is not our normal practice to combine youth and adult sunday school, but given the topic and the relevance for our teens, we felt it most appropriate to combine classes. Even though we’re ‘together’ our youth leaders will have their own “youth tables” to facilitate conversation.
