Wednesday Morning Session
Beginning February 1, three elective core groups will be offered for 12 week studies.
SOMETHING BETTER, HEAVEN
As a follow-up to our study of Hebrews, this core group will examine what
the Bible reveals about heaven. If we are believers in Christ’s sacrificial death for us,
we will then go to spend eternity with Him when we die. What will we do? Where is it? Who will be there? What we will NOT do. We will refer to various Bible passages, books such as Randy Alcorn’s HEAVEN, and Dan Schaeffer’s A BETTER COUNTRY, and other references. We need to be heavenly minded to be some earthly good.
Leader: Ernestine Harrison
STRENGTHENING YOUR MARRIAGE
Per requests from some of our women, a core group will be offered on the topic of marriage. Designed for young married couples, as well as for those who have been married for years, we will discuss biblical principles on which to model and strengthen our marriages, as well as how we can honor the Lord through our marriage, growing closer not only to our spouse, but to Him. There will be a time for discussion, for sharing personal experiences, and for encouraging one another.
Leader – Sue Vogelmann
HOW PEOPLE CHANGE
So often we find ourselves saying, “I can’t change – that’s just the way I am!” However, as believers, we are to grow in sanctification, as our thoughts, attitudes and actions progressively become more Christ-like. Using scripture, as well as a DVD/study series developed by Tim Lane and Paul Tripp, we will examine the process in which people are able to experience genuine change through transforming grace. These biblical principles will provide practical help in changing long-standing patterns of behavior and allow us to grow in our faith and in our love for God and others.
